The WinePod Mini's software allows you to select a wine varietal and a target style.  These choices drive a software program called WineCoach.  WineCoach is a third generation of winemaking software that teaches you step-by-step winemaking.  Once your choices are made, our servers connect to your WinePod Mini and install a winemaking plan that includes prompts for each step of the process.   Our winemaking algorithm utilizes the best known methods for each style of wine.  These methods are the sames ones used by today's most accomplished professional winemakers .

 

The WinePod Mini has a 40 liter stainless steel tank that cradles your grapes from fruit to wine.  The WinePod Mini has optional temperature sensors and an optional density (Brix, or Sugar % by weight) sensor that measures the progress of your fermentation.   Based on your particular plan, the WinePod Mini will alter the temperature with gentle heat or cooling and request you to perform specific actions that are designed to create the highest quality wine possible.    Examples of actions include smelling, tasting, adding ingredients such as yeast, punching down the cap or pressing the wine.

 

When your grapes have become wine after a week or several weeks, the WineCoach software continues to guide your winemaking decisions and your education all the way to bottling.
