The Elertus gives you peace of mind that your cellar is secure and providing proper storage for your fine wines. The Elertus will alert you when there is a risk of loss, such as someone entering your cellar, or the temperature is too high.
Before first time installation, simply log on to the Elertus website. Register your device along with your WiFi network information. Include the e-mail addresses or text numbers you would like to receive alerts. You can also download the Android or iPhone application for free.
The Elertus includes sensors for temperature, humidity, movement and light. Also included is a door open switch which easily attaches to your cellar door.
From the Elertus website or the smart phone application you can adjust your alert set-points. For example, you can select to receive a text alert when your cellar door is opened or if the temperature is above 60° F.

The Elertus will check-in once per 60 mintues and update your App with the latest temperature and humidity data. It will also confirm if a light is on or off and if the door is open or closed or if the cellar has shaken or moved in any way. Battery life is at least one year.
If an alert is required, the Elertus will immediately send you a text and/or an email message. If you are out of town, the Elertus will update the cellar status again in 60 minutes with current information. If you or someone is near your cellar, you can also get a real-time update immediately by pushing a button on the Elertus device and checking your iPhone, Android or your Elertus website.
If you lose power or your WiFi connection is lost and the Elertus does not check in, you will recieve an alert. This could mean your power is out or you are having problems with your internet service. When power or connectivity is restored, the Elertus will automatically begin service again.

What if I am out of town and get an alert?
Lost connectivity alert: The most common cause of a cellar failure is power outage. If you get a "lost connectivity" alert, chances are it is your internet service or your home's power is temporarily lost. Wait 60 minutes and the Elertus will update you with the most recent data in the case connectivity is restored. The Elertus does not usually need to be reset in order to resume data collection. If the connectivity issue persists, check your power company and internet provider to see if there is a general outage in your area.
Door open alert: If you keep your cellar unlocked, perhaps someone is just admiring your collection. If nobody is home or it is always locked, you can call a neighbor and see if there is any suspicious activity at your home. If you have home security video, you can check that. If you have children at home or visitors, you can call home to check-in.
Low humidity alert: This would normally be a chronic alert due to your system not providing enough humidity generation compared to your trigger. 50% humidity or more is acceptable. If you are not achieving this value, try placing a saucer of water at the bottom of your cellar. There may be a humidity gradient in your cellar, so the Elertus may be measuring at different level of your cellar.
High temperature alert: Since the Elertus measures air temperature, this can be caused by the Elertus measuring temperature above the cellar temperature probe. Most cellars have a temperature gradient that becomes cooler the lower the bottle in the cellar. Try placing the Elertus and the cellar temperature probe at the same level.
